Rurii

The Rurii are a people that originate from the Karrow, a land east of Osera and the wastes that separate it from the Unsung Lands. After Xeril's Conquests, many permanently migrated into the more fertile regions of Ceneria and Zinnabar.

Origin

The Rurii keep an oral history of their people which states they are the descendants of the runaway slaves of the Titans. Whatever their origin, their stay in the Karrow has deeply affected them: they are hairier than most, and are often considered 'beastlike' by man other cultures.

Culture

The Rurii have a deep passion for stories and song, using a variety of sounds, clicks, and throat vibrations to bring their tales to life. While they are considered extremely warlike, their culture also has a deep respect for peace (after violent means have been exhausted to save face). They are also renowned beast tamers, having tamed the yak-like Bana of the Karrow which they inhabit, as well as the wolf-horse-like Karrowhound.

Beliefs

The Rurii's primary deity is the Sky-Mother, though they also believe in the spirits of all living things. They have many minor gods, most who are not known to outsiders. They also perform sacrifices to the Titans, whom they continue to fear.
